Summer Time is Made for Skirts...

Summer feels likes its really here. School is out and skirts are in. Here are some photos from our last two sessions at Abeille, making skirts. Skills we worked on included putting in a zipper, darting, waistbands, hemming, slits, and facings. They came out amazing...just in time for the summer heat!
Nikki's lovely bird skirt (Joel Dewberry fabric from JP Knit and Stitch) contrasts amazingly with a floral print waistband.

Fantastic Fabric Mixes for Aprons

I love making aprons! I especially love apron making with such fabulous fabric combinations as these. Everyone at our class last Thursday picked such gorgeous fabrics and the aprons came out so pretty!

Summer Sewing

We began our latest sewing intensive at Abeille last Thursday. There were so many pretty fabrics and new sewing machines - it was wonderful! I am very excited for the projects to come...stay tuned for vintage inspired aprons next week!
