Andrea's navy silk tunic dress - with beautifully gathered and cuffed sleeve!
Everyone hard at work in our last class.
I am beyond excited to be making my first wedding dress for my dear friend Sharon. These photos are just the mock-up version of the dress. We designed the dress together and had a fitting in VT this past weekend. We had a great time - hot tub star gazing, Jake's mojitos, Sharon's pesto, a sweaty run, Jake's wonderful family, and beautiful vermont views! The entire skirt of the dress will be covered in the organic ruffle pattern you see. The top is very fitted, strapless, and will have a thin band of piping along the top edge. I am making it from a creamy colored crinkle voile she purchased at Mood! The fabric is so pretty and soft! I am also making an upcycled belt from an embroidered shirt (from a friend). The wedding is in about 1 month in Wilmington, VT. I am so happy to be making this dress for someone I love so dearly! Congratulations to my lovely friends Sharon and Jake! I will post more pictures when the dress is complete!
We finished up with aprons last night and moved onto skirts. The aprons came out so cute! I love aprons! Amazing pleated ruffles in this class! These aprons are making me crave a good fruity summer time pie...!

Vanessa joined us for a make-up class. She is working on a fabulous pleated sleeve shirt pattern she got at Grey's Fabric and Notions in the South End. Love the fabric!
